This report describes the 'Integrating essential skills in literacy tutor training' project by Laubach Literacy Ontario. The project aimed to develop a means by which essential skills could be integrated into community literacy programs, and to develop training to help tutors use essential skills in their lesson plans. The project used real workplace materials to create sample activities which tutors could use as a pattern to create their own. Includes an overview of the course that was developed as part of the project. The essential skills focused on were reading, writing, document use and numeracy.
