Learning democratically : using study circles / Sturla Bjerkaker and Judith Summers.
Study circles are groups which manage their own learning, embody democratic practice, and employ procedures that develop participants' capacity to become confident as learners. This book shows how study circles offer an alternative to a skills-based approach to learning. It includes a number of case studies from Britain, Norway and Slovenia to show how study circles can be developed in adult education. It also includes practical advice on creating and managing study circles.
