Michaëlle Jean and her family fled Haiti to escape Duvalier's regime. She came to Canada as a refugee. Michaëlle worked as a journalist and broadcaster. When Michaëlle was 48 years old, her life changed. Michaëlle was asked to be Canada's Governor General.
