These articles are a response to two reports ("Learning Literacy in Canada: Evidence from the International Survey of Reading Skills" and "Reading the Future") which could have significant impact on Canadian education policy decisions. The first item was a Literacies Special Bulletin, September 2008 which briefly summarized concerns about the two reports. The following articles, contained in a "Literacies" supplement, are more detailed discussions, critically examining the two reports.
