Essential skills : skills to build on / Human Resources and Social Development Canada.
This information package is designed to help employers understand the importance and facilitate the development of essential skills in the workplace. The series of manuals has been designed to cover different areas of essential skills understanding and implementation within different sectors of workplaces in Canada. The information provided is intended to be used in conjunction with information provided on the Government of Canada's website, hrsdc.gc.ca/essentialskills. All of the information provided on the pamphlets as well as on the website is the result of extensive research examining the skills people use in the workplace. When employers understand the essential skills their employees must have to succeed in their workplace, establishing workplace literacy and other education programs is a far less daunting task.
