Summary: This resource describes in narrative style the work of adult literacy practitioners in Alberta. Based on interviews with 28 adult literacy practitioners working in a variety of settings with a variety of learners, it shares teaching philosophies and instructional practices, celebrates learner success stories, and outlines challenges in teaching adult literacy. Current issues, challenges and innovative work in teaching reading, writing, numeracy and technology are discussed. These stories were previously published individually on the Adult Literacy Research Institute blog.
