Summary: This study examined the literacy skills of Canadian-born citizens, including how the skills were developed and how they are distributed throughout the national population. The authors also examine the effect leaving formal schooling has on literacy skills (it was anticipated that skills would generally decline after schooling had been completed), and the relationship between literacy and income.
