Mosaics and essential skills : facilitator's guide and student notes

Summary: The Literacy and Essential Skills in Industrial Arts (LESIA) project is a set of five industrial arts-based courses that also include workplace essential skills and literacy instruction. The courses are designed for working adults or those wanting to enter the workforce. The facilitators guide for the mosaics course includes an introduction to essential skills; an explanation of the course structure; and notes for the host organization, the mosaics instructor and the essential skills facilitator. The student notes section is for learners involved in the mosaics component of the project. It includes an explanation of the rationale and structure of the course, an introduction to essential skills, the techniques and tools used to create mosaics, and a section on safety.
