Health literacy : making the connection

Summary: This DVD produced by the NS Depts of Health and Education is an important tool to advance the understanding of literacy as a determinant of health. The DVD highlights the impact of limited literacy on health and suggests ways in which health providers can provide health information and advice in ways that people with different levels of literacy can understand. It is aimed at practitioners and talks about the issues of health literacy and what health consumers need. The DVD contains two versions: version one is 18 minutes long while version two is abbreviated to 6 minutes.
