[ESL for agricultural workers] : [upper beginner] / [Leonna Thiessen and Joan Berndt].
These lesson units were designed to help foreign or newly arrived immigrant workers learn basic job related vocabulary. Each lesson focuses on a specific job related function, e.g. workplace safety. Added to each lesson is a section to help workers function successfully in the community. This volume contains both the student workbook and the teacher's guide.
"Very useful! We will be using the materials to prepare some ESL classes for migrant agricultural workers." – April 2012 Exemplary Literacy Materials Online Reviews.
"This is a good start but it needs to be fleshed out. Is there interest in a collaborative project to make both volumes I & II more comprehensive? I would be interested in participating as the majority of my learners are agricultural workers." – September 2010 Exemplary Literacy Materials Online Reviews.
"This binder has all the topics I was looking for to meet the needs of ESL agricultural workers. While not a published book, it is reader friendly with a good variety of exercises that would really help ESL workers on the job." – September 2010 Exemplary Literacy Materials Online Reviews.
