"The Change Agent" is a publication designed to be used as a teaching tool for civil liberties in intermediate-level ESOL, ABE, GED and adult diploma classes. It is published twice a year. This book is presents a collection of The Change Agent's best and most timeless pieces and a guide for educators in how to use the paper. The first chapter is an introduction to the many kinds of articles included in the paper, with specific strategies for using each type with students. The second chapter contains sample curriculum units for ABE, GED, and ESOL settings, modeling how teachers can create a series of thematic lessons that build level-appropriate skills. The third chapter is a series of reflective pieces written by educators who share their strategies for dealing with difficult issues in the classroom.
