The forgotten player in adult literacy: the impact of a state literacy resource center

Summary: This is the report of a study measuring the impact of the services of a large Southern United State's literacy resource center on the state's adult literacy programs. Too often, literacy resource centers are a forgotten player in the field of adult literacy and are omitted from policy discussions. This study's findings indicate that the services of a state's literacy resource center can have a positive impact on the ability of the state's literacy providers to do their jobs and that state literacy resource centers have the ability to perform as valuable, integral players in the field of adult literacy.
