Canadian language benchmarks : Literacy placement tool : volume 2 : phase 2 / Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks.
The Literacy Placement Tool (LPT) is intended to be used by practitioners and instructors as a tool for administering, scoring, recording and reporting the results of LPT assessments in adult ESL programs. Developed by the Centre for Canadian Language Benchmarks, the LPT is intended to promote and support fair, reliable assessments of adult ESL literacy learners according to the standards of the Canadian Language Benchmarks 2000: ESL for literacy learners. The second volume is designed to help assessors, workplace trainers and literacy practitioners to make informed decisions about an adult ESL literacy client's literacy needs. The tasks included help identify and place adults into re-skilling programs, workplace training programs, and ESL literacy programs that support the transition into the Canadian workforce. It should be administered to adult ESL learners who have easily completed all of the LPT level-1 tasks.
